How to apply for a Canada Visa Online from Singapore?

There are numerous conditions essential to apply for the Canada eTA. All candidates must have:

  • A Singaporean passport will still be valid after six months.
  • A valid credit or debit card to pay the charge.
  • An active email address to get the eTA.

Since the eTA for Singaporean citizens is tied to the traveler’s passport number, dual citizenship holders should be careful to apply for the eTA using the same passport that they intend to use for their trip.

Singaporean nationals or citizens of other eligible nations must apply for the Canada eTA. Unless they apply using a passport from their country of origin, travellers with travel papers with a different status (such as residents) will need to apply for a Canadian visa.

All eTA applicants must be over 18 at the time of application. Minors will require a parent or guardian to make the application on their behalf. Individuals registering for an eTA for Singaporean nationals on behalf of a juvenile are also asked to supply some basic personal information as their guardian or agent.

As the Electronic Travel Authorization is not a visa, there is no restriction on the number of times the traveler can enter or exit Canada. Border officials will determine how long the eTA holder can remain in Canada when they enter and indicate it on the traveler’s passport, but stays can be granted for up to six months.

Note: It is illegal to stay in Canada beyond the date specified in the applicant's passport. Singaporean nationals may request an extension of their stay in Canada as long as they do so at least 30 days before it expires.

How long can a Singaporean national stay in Canada?

To visit Canada by flight, Singaporeans must have an authorized electronic travel authorization (eTA). The amount of time allowed is dependent on several criteria.
Most Singaporeans are given the maximum 6-month stay, albeit the precise duration varies.
Fortunately, the Canada eTA is multiple-entry and valid for 5 years, or until the passport expires: Singaporeans may enjoy numerous short journeys to the nation with the same authorization.
Even for brief layovers, Singaporean passport holders require an eTA to transit through a Canadian airport.
